The idea for Dubai Frame emerged as part of a global architectural competition aimed at creating a landmark that symbolized Dubai’s transformation. The winning concept focused on framing the city’s contrasting identities rather than dominating the skyline with another tower.

Construction began in the mid 2010s and the structure was carefully positioned in Zabeel Park so that one side faces the historic neighborhoods while the other opens toward the modern high rises. The frame was officially opened to the public in 2018.
