History

Wynwood Walls was founded in 2009 by developer and art patron Tony Goldman with the vision of transforming a neglected warehouse district into a destination centered around street art. At the time Wynwood was largely industrial with little foot traffic or recognition.

Goldman invited some of the world’s leading graffiti and street artists to paint massive murals on warehouse walls turning blank concrete into bold artistic statements. The project quickly gained international attention and reshaped perceptions of street art as a respected art form.

Over the years Wynwood Walls expanded with rotating exhibitions curated spaces and new artists constantly refreshing the walls. Today it stands as a global symbol of urban creativity and played a major role in revitalizing the Wynwood neighborhood into one of Miami’s most vibrant cultural districts.
